Lake Gogebic ice is on with about 3” of ice in the bay. The main lake is also frozen over, but anglers are only fishing the bay at this point. Snow on the ice will insulate and slow the building of ice – USE CAUTION!. Anglers “goose stepping” out on the ice are catching pike and walleye, using sucker minnow below tip-ups and also jigging rapalas in 4-8 ft. As usual, mostly during low light conditions. Please use caution and we recommend to give the ice time to become solid – keep in mind the early ice challenges we had here last year! Be safe, good luck, and please send us your photos!!
