Memorial Day Weekend is looking good for fishing!
Had a great opening weekend. While some of our guests did better than others – everyone was catching fish. One set of guests brought in 8 legal Walleye caught during opener right in front of the lodge in about 13′ of water. Others found their luck off shore during low light. Smallmouth have been active as we even had some good catches off the dock. Northern are liking the big sucker minnows, and Walleye seem to be hitting on leeches and minnows. Slip bobbering, jigging or trolling – anglers are reporting catching a lot of good number, but a lot of undersize fish.
Bass season opens this Saturday – and should be a good opener as we’ve seen a lot of action with Smallmouth – even right off the dock!
