Conditions are reported as good to excellent and groomers are out on a consistent schedule. We’ve had about 16” of new snow over the past few days. Some wet holes continue to be a problem, but this latest cold snap should help improve that. The only substantial wet hole is at the northern portion of trail 102 and our driver has assured us that you can ride around it without getting wet. Only other challenge reported is 8 East out of Bergland is reported to be in rough condition. Weather looks good through the weekend and we’ll have to stay hopeful through next week. We’ll keep you up to date.
Just wanted to clear up some confusion as far as snowmobiling on the side roads in Bergland. After speaking with the DNR, the MI State Police, the Ontonagon county Sheriff’s department, and the Bergland township supervisor, it is 100% legal to ride the side roads in Bergland. Do the speed limit and stay on your side of the road and nobody will mess with you. However, DO NOT ride on either of the MI highways in town. You CAN cross them. You CAN NOT travel on them for any distance. PLEASE COME TOBERGLAND!
Also please note that the access to the Lake from the Walleye Lodge is limited to their guests. Please don’t travel through there to get to the trails. We appreciate your support in complying and just want a safe and fun season for all!
Thanks and have a great weekend!
